Hope Bags of Michigan has some exciting news! Today, we received a $6,000 grant from the Rota Foundation. A huge thank you to the founder, Marc Doxon. I have been diligently working on securing grant funding. Additionally, I have three other grants pending, with decisions expected by December 31. We will allocate a portion of this funding for our distribution in Grand Rapids in January 2026. We are also planning a significant event in Detroit sometime in the spring of 2026.
We are still seeking support from businesses in the state of Michigan and our Facebook followers to help expand our services across the state.

Hope Bags of Michigan has purchased 450 pairs of brand-new shoes for the homeless population in Michigan. To continue our mission and expand our programs and service area, we need your support. Please consider making a donation.
Hope Bags of Michigan is a unique charity that purchases in large quantities directly from manufacturers, allowing us to save thousands of dollars. In contrast, most other charities buy from retailers like Walmart or wholesale houses at higher prices.

2600 pairs of new socks and gloves have been delivered! We will begin distributing Tomorrow.

Today, Hope Bags of Michigan placed an order for 2,000 pairs of socks, and we anticipate receiving a shipment of 450 pairs of brand-new men’s and women’s shoes sometime in April. We remain dedicated to supporting the homeless population throughout Michigan, striving every day to provide essential items and resources to those who need them most.
Despite our efforts, we continue to face challenges in securing support from businesses, both large and small state wide. Repeated rejections have made it difficult for us to expand our reach and provide additional assistance to those in need. Most of our funding currently comes from grants that I have been diligently pursuing for the past two years. Last year, a large multi-billion-dollar company in the food service industry located in Grand Rapids declined my donation request simply because I did not possess a rewards card. They informed me that the absence of a rewards card played a role in their decision regarding my request. Talk about mind-blowing. This donation would have helped hundreds of people in need.
We remain hopeful that increased community involvement and business partnerships will help us overcome these obstacles, enabling us to secure more resources and funding to provide food and basic necessities. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of Michigan’s homeless population.
